Young Christophe Scherer, taking over from his father Andre, is quickly establishing the name of this domaine by making rich, yet subtle wines.
This Alsace red is poised halfway between a Gamay from Beaujolais and a Burgundian Pinot. It is aged for 10 months in barrique, which imparts notes of vanilla, perfectly entwined with high-toned cherry & strawberry flavors. It is so hard to find drinkable pinots in this price point. The fresh flavors & silky texture of this wine make it an excellent value.
