Wine of the Week:

Domaine de Pratavone Rosé “Cuvée Tradition” - $16

From a long line of vintners, Jean Corréges established southern Corsica’s Domaine de Pratavone in 1964. Currently the wines are made by Isabelle Courreges, who took over from her father at the Domaine.  The vines enjoy a mountain climate that is tempered by the maritime influences of the sea. On Corsica, it’s these cool summer nights that lengthen the development of aromas and flavors, allowing for greater complexity in the wine.

Domaine de Pratavone Rosé is made from 100% Sciaccarello, a native varietal that translates as “crunchy to the bite.”  The wine is impressively aromatic with a stunning floral and ripe apple character. On the palate, you’ll find medium-bodied flavors of pure strawberry fruit, combined with an elegant white pepper finish.
